If you know me, you know that I am passionate about law and great BBQ. You might also know that I am a long-standing member of BBQ Brethren, a Long Island group that is fierce about great BBQ and was among those introducing serious BBQ to New York City.
On May 25, my wife Robin and I were privileged to serve as volunteers along with BBQ Brethren teams who participated in a big welcome BBQ for the sailors on the Navy’s destroyers USS Farragut and USS Bainbridge and the Coast Guard Cutter (USCG) Forward when they docked in Brooklyn for Fleet Week. BBQ Brethren came from as far away as San Diego, Alabama and the Midwest to take part in this event.
We were proud to serve BBQ to the men and women who serve our country. In all, we hosted more than 1,000 people, including sailors and marines and 300 veterans who joined us. I got rave reviews for my waygu pastrami.
