Three years ago, our doors opened, and The Law Office of Stephen J. Silverberg was established. In those three years, the practice has flourished and our clients, colleagues and friends have continued to appreciate our focus on providing superior representation with a personal touch.
Sarah Moskowitz, a graduate of New York Law School and Brooklyn College, joined us in early November. Ms. Moskowitz has a unique background in the law that includes a semester in law school in Israel. We look forward to introducing you to her when you are next in the office.
In October, Stephen Silverberg and Elizabeth Briand gave presentations at the first annual Planned Giving Workshop presented by North Shore Animal League America (NSALA). The program explored how planned giving strategies can help protect pets when they survive their owners and how supporting not-for-profits like NSALA can also lower your income and estate tax while increasing the net benefit to your family. Future workshops are being planned and we will let you know as soon as the next one is scheduled.
Now that the election has passed, the President and Congress are having discussions on how to deal with the “fiscal cliff.” Any changes will affect taxpayers across the entire economic spectrum. I would urge anyone who has questions to make an appointment with our office to learn how these changes may affect them.
